wondering what happened on the day of what was supposed to be the most recent "all things knit and crochet" group at bn. sure, i was a little late as usual but i got there and nothing was set up. there were no people there. im wondering if this whole thing is a bust after all.
im going to email the lady i coordinated it with to see if she can tell me what happened. makes me sad cause i was really enjoying this little group.
nobody likes me, everybody hates me... im gonna eat some worms...
ok, there are other things to do with my day, like finish knitting the surprise for my sister for this weekend. of course, i put a ton of other things on hold to do it. oh well.

wondering...
11 March 2009
the plague!
seems despite my best efforts, ive finally caught the sickies. sucks. i havent been sick in three years and i almost forgot how horrible it is.
talking to some ladies online about knitting for their company. sounds cool. lots of creative wiggle room. at least its something i can do for money while im trying to figure out the rest of my busted ass life.
i still wanna find out about my masters in library science... how cool will that be?
yes.
i am a dork.
so now, i shuffle towards the shower and then to curl up in bed with a book. say goodnights to my folks far away and hopefully find sleep and health on the other side.
gnite all.

wow!
its all craziness here! the knitting group was a success i feel. for a first time, there were seven people there and a few lurkers. i think the next meeting will be even better. i think as annoying as it might be, i need to bring some extra yarn and needles and hooks for those who show unprepared. i think ill need to bring in a few examples of some of my stuff as well. people were asking. i was hoping that there would be a lot of people there better than i because there are still a few things i dont know how to do.. and there were! there were mostly crocheters there but that too is okay with me. ill get to teach them all to knit.
ive also found out about a shop that is hiring people to knit from a picture. some technicalities dont allow them to provide a pattern but they give you a picture and the yarn. this should be cool. i mean, i knit all the time anyway so this will be fun and profitable.
my carpal tunnel release and trigger finger release surgery scars on the left hand are healing up better than i thought possible. there was one spot that showed signs of infection but i nipped it in the arse before anything terrible could happen. as soon as this hand is fully online, i will in fact go get the right hand done as well. not having the left hand go numb all the time has been fabulous. and i found out it was just carpal tunnel, that i dont in fact have the beginnings of neuropathy in my left pinky. i worry so much. gotta keep tabs on this stuff. diabetes is no joke. and ive had this type one crap since i was seven.
thats all for now.
next "all things knit and crochet" meet is march 18th i believe. 7pm. kingston barnes and nobles. hope to see you there!

i shall resurface!
its been a long time but here i am. no promises to how long. ive long since moved to pen and paper. too many things that are unproper for the internets.
so anyway... two weeks ago i had hand surgery for both carpal tunnel and a trigger finger on my left hand. as soon as it heal, ill be getting the surgeries on my right hand except the right hand has two trigger fingers. too many years of knitting, drawing, and waitressing along with concert band has made my hands sad. well, the doctor was fabulous, dr arliss, and im even sort of able to use the hand already. i can type slowly, and as of yesterday, i can knit. i have to hold the tension differently, more on my right hand but it works. i think while i hold the needles like a righty, i put more pressure on my left hand to do the heavy lifting. so many things i do with my left hand that i never realized. being ambitexterous rock but i didnt realize how many things exactly i do with my left, less dominant hand, till now
so aside from all that, the real reason for this out of nowhere update is to announce the first meeting of my knit and crochet group at the barnes and noble in ulster, ny!
first and third wednesdays of the month at 7pm. i believe we will be meeting in the cushy chairs to the left side of the cafe. hey, gotta keep us close to the coffee, right?
ok, hand hurts. ill be back.. i think.
hope to see you this wednesday, march4th for our first meeting..
oh, and were called "all things knit and crochet!"
